After a while of hard work and moving, last week was the day! The Living Room of Welkom in Utrecht in the accomodation of the Star Lodge Hotel is a fact. The Living Room was inaugurated with a festive opening by body percussionists Jeroen Schipper and Heiko de Jonge from bodypercussie.nl. Together with Jeroen, Heiko and a lot of kids from the shelter they danced, laughed and made music.

The Living Room is meant for activities organized by Welkom in Utrecht. For example, there is now a weekly activity for children here, a sewing workshop is coming up and language cafes are held here. Also, every week there is a walk-in morning meant for those who want to read, study or have tea with for example a language buddy.

We are excited to get started in this cozy space!
