Christmas at the azc Oog in Al
Christmas warmed us by the wonderful activities organized at the asylum center and in the neighborhood!
On Wednesday, December 21st, women from Syria, Iraq and Somalia cooked amazing food in Het Wilde Westen and then, with the help of Hermen and Josien of Huis van Dominicus, made bags to take to elderly residents in the neighbourhood. This was done by five volunteers who, together with a resident from the asylum center, delivered the meals. Beautiful moments when contact was made and local residents had a chat with the asylum seekers.
On Saturday, December 24th, the residents of the asylum center made Christmas arrangements together with Anne Marie Trip and her two lovely children in A Beautiful Mess Utrecht. There were trees, wreaths balls, glitter, really too much to mention and all sponsored by local entrepreneurs! Thank you on behalf of our residents who took their homemade decorations to their rooms and enjoyed them.
On Saturday, December 24th, we also visited the residents of Residential Care Center Wartburg to surprise them with homemade cookies made by Syrian Amal. She had tears in her eyes so special was the contact with the people. A very wonderful new year we wish all the people!!
