Students from ROC at Pahud
For 5 weeks, a class of first-year students from ROC Midden Nederland – Social Care & Social Work in Overvecht worked toward last Friday.
Together with them we have been working weekly from September 27 on “how to organize nice activities. In the first week they were at location Pahud we shared general knowledge and statistics related to people on the run, asylum seekers and reception in Utrecht. This was followed by several weeks of mostly theory and lessons, and interviews in which we passively supported the students.
This period ended last week with some very fun activities organized mainly for the residents of Pahud. Several participants participated in a game of soccer, dodgeball, bingo and cookie baking.
It was not only enjoyable for us to see the participants having so much fun, but also because we experienced young students who actively and passionately learned the work that we ourselves from Welkom in Utrecht have been doing for almost 10 years now.
We hope we inspired these students as much as they inspired us!
