‘Corinne and Hans are my family in the Netherlands, I am very happy to have met them!’

This was said by Mahmoud after visiting them at their home.

With their Foundation Connected (www.stichtingconnected.nl), Corinne and Hans try to support people in the asylum seekers’ centre with questions that other agencies often have no answers to.

For example, they have purchased a mobility scooter for Mahmoud as he has a progressive muscle disease. But until he lives in a municipality, they cannot provide a mobility scooter. They also support a family with children with a skin disease, The sunscreen they have to use every day is not reimbursed. Therefore, they are jumping into this gap with financial support. And that is so great!!!!

They also arranged microwaves and prams for pregnant women, glasses, a special bike, too many to mention! They always connect with the residents in a very personal way and so more comes in than just a pram or glasses!!!
