On Friday, February 28, 20 teams from various shelters in the Utrecht region gathered at Sportcentrum Galgenwaard, FC Utrecht’s stadium, for the S.v.e.T. indoor soccer tournament 2025. What a great day it was! The participants could not only be active, but also do some networking here and there!

This event emphasized how valuable each individual is and provided a wonderful opportunity to come together. Welcome to Utrecht was well represented with teams from azc Utrecht, azc Overvecht, azc Star Lodge and emergency shelter Jaarbeurs. There was a good game of ball, a fine opportunity to forget the sometimes daily stress for a while.

The tournament was organized by S.v.e.t. (Sport for a Future), a volunteer organization dedicated to helping vulnerable target groups. Every week they offer sports activities to help them take steps in our society.
