On Wednesday 16 April, we went bowling with a group of young people from azc Star Lodge, together with students from Stichting ‘t Sticht. It was a really enjoyable afternoon full of new encounters, fun and teamwork.

We started at the Welkom Huiskamer in Utrecht, where everyone was welcomed. The students then picked up the residents and gave a brief explanation of how bowling actually works. The teams were nicely mixed and, despite many residents speaking little Dutch or English, there was plenty of laughter, encouragement and conversation.

It was more than just a fun activity: it brought people together who might otherwise never have met. For some students, it was even the first time they interacted with asylum seekers. And that made an impression.

In short: a super successful afternoon that definitely deserves a sequel!
