A visit from the Ministry of Justice and Security

A visit from the Ministry of Justice and Security

With nice weather, how nice is it to work together in a vegetable garden and get to know each other a little better?

Employees of the Directorate of AI at the Ministry of Justice and Security came to Common Ground Two’s garden, among other places, during their team outing.

There, together with residents of azc Joseph Haydnlaan, they were warmly welcomed by Renee and her regular garden volunteers with mouthwatering cake, baklava, tea, coffee and fruit juice. After an explanation of this green oasis, everyone got to work.

During the gardening (and also during the walk there and back again) there was a lot of exchange between people who were strangers to each other before. The asylum seekers and visitors really talked about everything: about education and work, about family (such as an aunt in Turkey with a large vegetable garden), about the birthplace of their parents… ‘It was a very beautiful and instructive experience, which we look back on with pleasure’, was our reaction.

The team outing ended with a delicious lunch at A Beautiful Mess.
