“It was a really special and beautiful show, I was very moved and a bit sad” This is what Karama from Iraq said after the fantastic concert by the Netherlands Wind Ensemble – NBE Wednesday, Sept. 21, on Peace Day in TivoliVredenburg. More than 70 people from azc, emergency shelters and Ukrainians received free tickets for this wonderful evening and how much they enjoyed themselves and sometimes shed a tear. Musicians, spoken word artists and dancers from Iran, Yemen, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, and many more countries performed, there were video links to Kenya, Bangladesh and Yemen, where people in refugee camps performed traditional music. The Somali women we had with us were surprised by a traditional Somali dance. And finally, all the people in the room sang a song together and celebrated peace as it should be. Together.
