A dress for mom

“I want to make a dress. For mom. As beautiful as Snow White,” Leo from Ukraine replied when asked what he wanted to make during Yink Goossens’ Children’s Workshop at Het Wilde Westen. No sooner said than done. And look how proud he is, just like his mother….

For years refugee children have been welcome to participate in the Children’s Workshop. They paint, carpenter, glue, saw, and sew with children born in the Netherlands. They themselves come from Jordan, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan or Ukraine.

During the Children’s Workshop, they can be who they want to be and make what they want to make. And that results in beautiful, touching, exciting, and always quirky works of art. Thank you Yink, for your open attitude and commitment.
