Buddy families cook together in Het Wilde Westen

“We enjoy is so much, doing these kinds of activities together. And we would like to get to know Dutch people and their customs!” This said Rezq, a father from Yemen who participated in cooking with buddy families with his wife and three children. The children made the dessert this time and the adults made Turkish vegetarian balls, Syrian lentil soup, Eritrean spinach, and Afghan snacks. During the meal, there was a lot of exchange about (food) culture, the Ramadan that was coming up, and the differences between the Netherlands and the countries where the families come from. Interns Evi, Sanne, and Lisa helped out and were also able to take trays home afterward for their parents to taste! Thanks again to Het Wilde Westen and to our ever-beaming Ankie Knippenbergh and Roos de Ridder. ♥️♥️
