Azc football tournament
On Sunday, July 27, more than 40 soccer players from various asylum seekers’ centers gathered on the fields of VV Voorwaarts in Utrecht. It was not just any tournament, but a celebration of meeting new people, respect, and fun.
Under the calm and positive leadership of referee Marc, the game was played enthusiastically but fairly. His involvement ensured that every player felt seen and appreciated.
The hospitable VV Voorwaarts club generously made their fields available. How wonderful to be able to organize this together!
This first edition of the trophy was a wonderful example of how sport brings people together—regardless of where you come from. Will this become a new annual tradition?
