Every Tuesday and Friday, De Buitenkamer’s vegetable garden on Kanaalweg is open to asylum seekers and local residents! It’s a lovely place where we can get together, enjoy the outdoors, learn about plants, and get to know each other better.

Recently, we had a little party! We went into the garden together, picked vegetables, herbs, and flowers, and then got to work. We used everything we harvested to make fresh salads and small snacks. Everyone helped out: cutting, tasting, laughing, chatting—it was real teamwork! And afterwards? We sat down together at the table, outside, simply enjoying what we had made together and feeling proud of the result.
