On Monday, June 2, we attended the City Meeting “Echt Utrecht,” a special event in honor of Utrecht’s anniversary!

On that day, the square around City Hall was transformed into a warm and welcoming place where locals and internationals, newcomers and old residents gathered at long tables to share a meal and stories.

The weather was sunny, we sat outside and enjoyed delicious snacks and drinks. A nice setting to meet other Utrecht residents!

There was a wonderful mix of musical performances—from Indian and Turkish music to a multilingual choir, and even the sounds of the Ukrainian bandura.

This event was a wonderful reminder that food, music, and conversation truly connect us, and that Utrecht is full of inspiring people who do amazing things for the city.
