History class visiting azc Pahud
A few weeks ago, we were visited at Plan Einstein Pahud by an entire history class from Vathorst College from Amersfoort! The students were introduced to residents and got an insight into life at an asylum seekers’ centre. We started with a quiz and a tour of the grounds. “Did you know that residents here often share a room with four people, usually with people they don’t know at all?” “And which country do you think most refugees come from?” But it was during lunch preparation that the real conversations started! Together, the students and residents made a delicious lentil soup and fresh salad. There was laughter, sharing, and even beautiful new friendships formed in one afternoon. It became an experience the students will not soon forget – and the residents also enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and delicious food. And as if that wasn’t nice enough: shortly afterwards, two students returned to record a podcast with residents for a school assignment!
